Harmonic filters – also for retrofitting to existing systems – are available for all Bm converters to minimise unwanted harmonic distortion.

The filters for the 5th, 7th and in some cases also the 11th and 13th current harmonics reduce harmonic pollution in the power system and downstream loads. Disturbances produced by harmonics on instrumentation and control, network, computer, or telephone systems, other converters, non-choked or insufficiently choked compensation systems or the lighting system are effectively avoided.

At the same time, these harmonic filters improve the fundamental power factor, leading to substantially lower costs of ownership.
